Entering Imàgo, the Hassler’s 6th floor panoramic Michelin starred restaurant in Rome with its unique view over the city, is to be greeted by a beautiful life-size painting that fills each window of this spectacular location loved by the Roman locals and international guests alike. Soft music, elegant and refined decor with an antique-wooden inlay, and the romantic play of light reflecting on the mirrors, all conspires to create a magical atmosphere, a sense of being in another time and space in a restaurant steeped in memorable history.

Sitting down at one of the best restaurants in Rome City centre, at the top of the Spanish Steps, one is instantly attended to by the Maitre, always happy to point out the names of the various monuments and cupolas on the horizon. Starting from left to right: the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano, the Quirinale, Villa Colonna and the church of Sant’Andrea delle Fratte, the Campidoglio (Capitol Hill) and monument to Victor Emmanuel II, Palazzo Venezia, the Aventino hill, the Pantheon, the church of Sant’Agnese in Piazza Navona, Castel Sant’Angelo, the obelisk and Trinità dei Monti Church which one can almost reach out and touch, Villa Medici and the Borghese gardens.

Imàgo is a full experience of fine dining in Rome. The background music and the stunning view are complemented by the taste, texture, and aroma of Executive Chef Andrea Antonini’s reinterpretation of Italian cuisine that goes into the Imàgo's festival dishes. Dishes are each carefully prepared and presented, his menus vary according to the season. The variety of what he presents is thought for each type of palate…an explosion of flavors that include the most refined combinations as well as traditional Italian cuisine, characterized by the ingredients and fragrances embedded within Italy’s rich history and culture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Imàgo,one of most renowned Michelin star restaurants in Rome, is considered the first panoramic restaurant in Rome. Fifty years ago, in the Autumn of 1956, Oscar Wirth, then-Owner and General Manager of the Hassler Roma, father of current Owner and General Manager Roberto E. Wirth, had the Hassler's 6th floor panoramic terrace covered to transform it into what would become known throughout the world as Rome's celebrated first panoramic restaurant, the Roof. It was the first restaurant built on the last floor of a hotel. On December 2006, after a complete restyling, the Hassler Roma inaugurated the restaurant for the second time, with a new name, Imàgo, which derives from the Latin image, vision and thought.
The Hassler Roma has a Michelin starred restaurant, Imàgo, which means image, dream, vision… Imàgo encompasses in one word the philosophy of the Hassler Roma’s gourmet restaurant: a place where vision and taste intertwine to offer a unique culinary experience. Imàgo is open from 7.00 pm to 10.30 pm, everyday, plus it can be exclusively reserved at breakfast or lunch time for private events.
Imàgo is on the 6th floor of the Hassler Roma, with a unique view over the Eternal City. This is why it is considered one of the most romantic restaurants in Rome.

Imàgo, the Hassler Roma's panoramic restaurant, satisfies the needs of an increasingly discerning and exclusive clientele by presenting creatively-thought traditional and refined flavors against the backdrop of Eternal City, viewed as never before from its incredible position. It is a place where sight and taste are welded to seal a unique dining experience.
