Imàgo,one of most renowned Michelin star restaurants in Rome, is considered the first panoramic restaurant in Rome. Fifty years ago, in the Autumn of 1956, Oscar Wirth, then-Owner and General Manager of the Hassler Roma, father of current Owner and General Manager Roberto E. Wirth, had the Hassler's 6th floor panoramic terrace covered to transform it into what would become known throughout the world as Rome's celebrated first panoramic restaurant, the Roof. It was the first restaurant built on the last floor of a hotel. On December 2006, after a complete restyling, the Hassler Roma inaugurated the restaurant for the second time, with a new name, Imàgo, which derives from the Latin image, vision and thought.
